PR for the People Announcement! Spring 2020 Group Workshop
Meet the “PR for the People” Spring 2020 batch! Excited to announce Hope Meng, Erina Alejo, Dara del Rosario (for SOMARTs Cultural Center), and Jean Chen (for Inkblot Gallery), will be participating in the six-month program that guides each participant through PapaLoDown Agency’s signature PR campaign system, in a group setting.
Hope Meng is a multidisciplinary designer and artist whose work focuses on the power of letters to communicate through both content and form.
Erina Alejo is an artist, researcher, and educator. Alejo builds visual and temporal archives on labor, displacement, and family and communal history, rooting from their identity as a third-generation renter in San Francisco. Their long-term ethnographic projects, A Hxstory of Renting, a semi-autobiographical project, and SoMapagmahal, a Filipinx and Ethnic Studies photography mxntorship program in San Francisco's SOMA Pilipinas Filipino Cultural Heritage District engage audiences and participants to examine the impact of urban planning on historically underserved communities. Alejo received their BFA from UC San Diego, and currently works in arts grants administration at Stanford University. In their free time, Erina surfs and looks forward to documenting stories of POC and QTPOC surfers.
Dara del Rosario for SOMArts Cultural Center SOMArts leverages the power of art as a tool for social change through multi-disciplinary events and exhibitions. Equipping artists with the space, mentorship and support they need to shift perspectives and innovate solutions, SOMArts fosters access to arts and culture for collective liberation and self-determination.
Jean Chen for Inkblot Gallery Inkblot Gallery is an art gallery in Alameda, Ca that is owned and operated by resident artists Jean Chen, Jo Anne Yada, Emily Brock Lewis, Marcy Voyevod, and Chris Rummell.
Stay tuned as we’ll be putting a spotlight on each individual, and share their experience in the PR for the People program.
