San Francisco, CA - April 26, 2019 - Covo, a coworking & event space with locations in San Francisco and St. Louis, is actively seeking non-profit organizations and mission-driven businesses to join their community. Covo is hosting an open house at their Mission Street location on Wednesday, May 15th, from 6pm-8pm, where organizations can tour the space and apply to be considered in the program. The open house will include a panel discussion about “Maximizing Impact” with Bevis Cheng of Hacker Exchange, Victoria Gitlin of Inclusion Ventures and Desi Danganan of Kultivate Labs, moderated by Lantanya Hilton of the Ambassador’s Circle. With catering from The Pawn Shop and Renewal Mill, who have committed to supporting non-profit events held at Covo through sponsorship opportunities. Through the support and community at Covo, an impressive array of organizations have experienced measurable growth and success.

Entrepinays - a fiscally sponsored non-profit founded by Gina Mariko Rosales, hosted 130 current and aspiring Pinay entrepreneurs last October. The success of the event lead them to grow their Instagram following to 1200 organic followers in 5 months, turn the platform into an official 501c3 nonprofit, launch more programming such as their lightning talk series, expand the summit to two days and fundraise to bring the summit to Manila, Philippines in January 2020.

“We launched our 9 Lightning Talks online and shared stories never heard before of brown women, minority voices, and Filipina entrepreneurs sharing intimate, personal stories like not having support, being sexually harassed at her first job, living through family suicide, and more. This would NOT have happened if we weren't able to create the strong feeling of family and support in Covo's warm community home.” — Gina Mariko Rosales, Founder of Entrepinays

D-Prize - a nonprofit organization building a distribution network that delivers proven poverty interventions, doubled their full-time staff headcount and more than doubled (2.3x) their output.

Full Circle Fund - an active network of professionals who leverage their time, talent and connections to help nonprofits accelerate positive change in their community — has engaged over 200 active members, provided capacity building support to almost 75 local organizations, launched a Pilot Accelerator Fund program, grew their team from 3 to 5 full time employees and engaged 500+ Bay Area changemakers on-site at Covo.

“I truly believe having a presence and being a part of the community at Covo has contributed to the growth we've seen specifically in the Bay. Having a central location within SF has allowed me to more easily understand and navigate the challenges that students and educators face here, as well as giving me the opportunity to invite them into Covo, travel around the Bay easily, and having an SF mailing address. We've hosted teacher trainings, staff happy hours, and community organization networking events at Covo since joining." — Kevin Snyder, Director of Partnerships at Study Smart Tutors

Globally, the number of coworking spaces has grown from a little over a thousand spaces with 43,000 members in 2011 to 19,000 spaces with 1.7 million members in 2018, according to Deskmag. Covo’s focus on 501(c)(3) organizations and mission-driven businesses also seems to fit what Entrepreneur projects as the next development of coworking, where “industry-specific coworking support will quickly become a need within the startup community.”

Covo’s mission is significant for non-profits as office rentals soar in the city. Coworking spaces can help save on costs for smaller organizations and startups. Those joining Covo’s program receive a 25% discount on Covo’s event space and $50 off per person, per month, for monthly membership; with regular membership starting at $4/hr or $419/mo. Covo’s many perks include 24/7 access, AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) Services, member events, on-site coffee shop, café and bar, and much more.
