‘baysia’ Art and Dinner Series Rescheduled With Plans For Virtual Events
South of Market Arts Orgs Balay Kreative and Kearny Street Workshop Deal With New Reality of Social Distancing
San Francisco, CA - March 12, 2020 -- In light of the rapidly changing situation surrounding COVID-19, South of Market APIA/Filipino art & culture orgs Balay Kreative and Kearny Street Workshop (KSW), have made the decision to postpone baysia’s art and dinner series scheduled for March 19 - March 28, until further notice. The teams from Balay Kreative and KSW are currently in talks with artists, performers and chefs on how to take the experience of baysia into the virtual space, while still bringing the community together in a meaningful way. A list of scheduled online events will be published in the coming days.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and disappointment this has caused, but hope that we can continue to build a sense of community together through these difficult times. While we’re disappointed that we won’t be together in person with our community at this time, we are excited by the challenge to host baysia as an online experience” shares Gina Rosales, Kultivate Labs Board Member and Events Producer. “We created baysia as a celebration of the culture, community, and identity of Asian American groups in the Bay Area. Our goal is to recreate this same spirit through an online/virtual exhibit showcasing the art from baysia in a digital space and potentially hosting online versions of performances and readings.”
Existing ticket holders can redeem their tickets to shows/dinners for baysia with tentative plans to reschedule in May or June. If ticket holders are unable to attend during the new event date, a full refund for the ticket will be issued. For more information visit www.balaykreative.com
