The #MeToo experience that became a catalyst for creating PapaLoDown Agency 10 years ago

Last year I was able to be part of the inaugural Entrepinays Summit, and shared a part of the story of how and why I created PapaLoDown Agency 10 years ago. Sharing this video has been something I’ve avoided because of how vulnerable I am recounting how I was sexually harassed and gaslighted by the CEO and co-workers of a company I was working for at the time.

But today being the first day of Filipino American History Month, and a theme of Pinay Visionaries: Celebrating Filipina American Women, I want to share my story and be proud of how far we’ve ALL come the past 10 years.

It is because of the community I’m part of that I have been able to nurture and grow PapaLoDown Agency into what it is today. The community of artists, activists, creatives, educators, entrepreneurs and hustlers, is a reflection of all that PapaLoDown aims to be and put back out into this world.

Being too ambitious is what it takes to be an entrepreneur.

This weekend I’ll be attending the 2nd Annual Entrepinays Summit in San Francisco, and I’m so honored to be part of all the Pinay Visionaries that will be in the room. It’s also exciting to see that PapaLoDown clients Vanessa Garcia, 7 Mile House and Jennifer Navarro-Marroquin, Claiming Prosperity, and the only EntrePINOY my business coach, Anthem Salgado, Art of Hustle, will be participating as panelists and workshop facilitators this year.

I’ll be moderating a panel discussion “Know Your Worth” - In this discussion we will talk about panelists individual processes for creating estimates and bids for clients. We’ll talk about some of the biggest mistakes made when figuring out “what to charge”, and offer tips for how to successfully create an estimate process that works for you and your business.

PapaLoDown will also have an information booth at the summit this year, so visit us if you’re attending and get the LoDown on how you can sign up for our PR for the People workshop!

Tickets are still available for this year’s summit! No one turned away for lack of funds! You can email info@entrepinays.com directly for sponsorship info. Or use the discount code “KUMARE” for 10% off!
