spare change 002 – mint.com

I read an article in Fast Company Magazine a while back about this site http://www.mint.com/

As independent artists and entrepreneurs many times our own personal income is used to further our careers and passions. It’s important your money is straight so you don’t get yourself in sticky financial situations, cause then your art will suffer, and you don’t want that to happen!!

Mint is a free service that will help you manage your money! keep your bills paid (ahem… cell phone especially!!), review charts customized to show you what you spend your money on every month, as well as recieve email reminders when your balance is low and when payments are due. No more excuses for overdrafts and late payments!

A good idea is to open a separate checking account (WAMU is a great bank to use), that is used just for business. This will help you from mixing business and personal expenses, and keep you on track financially to maintain both areas of your life.

Mo Money or No Money – don’t stress yourself out…

    now ain’t that the TRUTH.

my only concern would be, what’s the catch? especially with (i’m assuming) personal info that you’d be giving them (login info, etc).

not sure what the catch is…maybe there isn’t one! if you have questions about the security you can read here: http://mint.com/safe.html

Because I found the info in a publication that is credible, and not an advertisement, i feel comfortable using their services.

make sure you do your own research and ask questions, expecially when it comes to money!
